Mr.  Nicholas Kamuya Ng’arua was appointed as an independent member of the Board of Directors of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) effective 26 May 2023. Prior to his appointment, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Mr. Ngarua is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya currently consulting with the firm of Busaidy Mwaura Ng’arua & Company, Advocates.  He is also an associate of the Institute of Arbitrators.

Prior to joining private practice, Mr. Ng’arua worked for many years with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) mainly in the areas of policy formulation and tax disputes resolution. Upon retirement from the KRA, he was appointed as the inaugural Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Tax Appeals Tribunal.
