“Below is a highlight of the key public events for November and December 2024 which is updated on a regular basis. Please email iepa@cma.or.ke for more details should you want to engage CMA.”

1. CMA will participate in the 6th Jumuiya Agribusiness and Blue Economy Investment Conference (JABEIC 2024) in Voi, Taita Taveta County from 27th – 29th November 2024 at Taita Taveta National Polytechnic.

This year’s conference focuses on building partnerships to unlock investments in the Green and Blue Economy. The event will spotlight agriculture and the blue economy as essential drivers of economic revitalization, emphasizing investment opportunities and advancements in County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) to foster industrialization and job creation. Special emphasis will be placed on youth employment through innovative educational initiatives, such as the Jumuiya Innovation Hubs.
JABEIC 2024 will highlight the synergy between agriculture and economic growth, facilitating strategic collaborations among agribusinesses, blue economy participants, government agencies, and academic institutions to promote innovation in these areas. The conference seeks to align with local, national, and global trends, comply with trade protocols, and create innovative financial models that advance agribusiness and the blue economy, ultimately enhancing regional economic cooperation.
The event is hosted by the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP) which serves as the regional economic development body for Kenya’s coastal counties, including Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta. Authority’s partnership with JKP in this event will therefore provide a good platform for Authority’s visibility within the region as well as create awareness on investment opportunities in capital markets.

2. CMA will host a webinar titled “Invitation to Collaborate on Stock Market Investing” with the Economics Students Association of Kenya Corporates on November 28th, 2024 from 8:00 pm to 9:15 pm.

The Authority is committed to broadening its investor education initiatives with a view to reaching various constituents within the country. This is geared towards enhancing financial literacy and in particular ensuring that Youth appreciate the various investment opportunities, and the risks and rewards associated with investment in the capital markets. To this end, CMA has been conducting webinars targeting the various constituents of our awareness program. We invite you to attend the session.

3. CMA will take part in the PEFA Syokimau Business Expo on Sunday, December 1st, 2024

This event is part of the continuous efforts to support and empower businesses within the congregation and the surrounding community through entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Expo will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs in the Church to showcase their products and services to the entire PEFA Syokimau congregation. It will also offer them opportunities to network, learn from business leaders, and gain exposure to potential customers and partners. The objective of the Expo is to foster economic empowerment, encourage entrepreneurial growth, and unite the Church’s community in support of Christian-led businesses.

4. CMA is partnering with the Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA) for the 11th Annual Kenya Diaspora Homecoming Convention (KDHC-2024) at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill, from December 9th -11th, 2024.

The event, organized by the Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA) and the Diaspora Investment Club, among other partners, will be a ‘Double Hybrid’ format, incorporating both a Conference and an Expo/Exhibition as well as in-person/physical and virtual using cutting edge virtual reality technology. This year’s theme is ‘Knowledge and Skills for Resilience and Growth in the 5th Industrial Era.’
The diaspora has played a pivotal role in driving Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Kenya, remitting a whopping USD 4.19 billion (KES 670 billion) in 2023. This makes the diaspora an invaluable contributor to the nation’s socio-economic development. The Convention will bring together a diverse assembly of diaspora members, business leaders, opinion shapers, government representatives, and experts from various industries and academia. It provides an opportunity to audit the past years’ achievements, reveal new potential opportunities and generally connect diasporans with existing and potential investments.
